Curriculum
We view curriculum as “everything that happens within the classroom” regardless of the age of the child – infants through school age. Play and investigation are central to our program as the means by which cognitive learning, socialization and creativity develops. The curriculum is responsive to the needs, abilities and interests of the children. They are given the opportunity to make choices, express ideas and theories, and act upon their understandings within a well-defined learning environment. Within each classroom a variety of materials and media are available for the children to graphically represent their knowledge and understanding and express their ideas. As children make discoveries, solve problems and answer their own questions, teachers reflect on this process, provide new experiences, and ask provoking ‘next step’ questions to help the children move to the next level of investigation. By reflecting on the children’s work, teachers are able to assess, document and communicate the story of the learning.

Admission Requirements
Daily Schedule
Families who are interested in attending Tahoe Mountain Academy must contact us to schedule a tour and fill out and return the enrollment packet.
Tahoe Mountain Academy requires that the following items from below are met before your child may begin school.

The Health Report must be signed by a physician or certified nurse practitioner and is required to be submitted within 30 days of admission.

Tuition and Fees
We are open Monday- Friday, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm.
Snow Day Policy: If we need to close the school for the safety of the students and the staff we will notify you by 6:00 am.
Holidays :
The center is closed for the annual NEVAEYC conference and in observance of the following national holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Nevada Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Registration Fee
There is a $75 yearly registration fee per child.
Tuition
Preschool/Pre-K
(New Prices starting September 1st 2019)
7:30am-5:30pm
$45/day $47.25
Two day minimum commitment per child.
Infants/Toddlers
(New Prices starting September 1st 2019)
7:30am-5:30pm:
$50/day $52.50
Two day minimum commitment per child.
No payment deductions will be made for holidays, sickness or personal vacations.
All payments are due by the 1st of every month (unless special arrangements are made).
A 10% discount is given per additional siblings.
Summer Camp
During the summer months Tahoe Mountain Academy maintains our school year days and hours. In the summertime we have a more relaxed schedule with fun weekly themes.

Camps themes are subject to change based on weather.
